About the position

The VP; Business Development Officer is responsible for driving business development and managing a portfolio that includes deposits and commercial loans. This role focuses on generating new business clientele, expanding revenue from existing clients, and ensuring that customer financial needs are met through effective management of corporate loan portfolios and depository accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Generate a business clientele and expand revenues from existing clients through account additions and other services.
  • Manage corporate loan portfolio, depository accounts, and customers' financial needs including related depository relationships.
  • Develop leads and referrals and make sales calls.
  • Cross-sell products that may be suitable for clients' needs and negotiate deals.
  • Perform site visitations to prospective clients.
  • Meet the annual production goal assigned to the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related field such as Accounting or Finance with five (5) years of banking-related experience in product sales and lending.
  • Established portfolio of banking relationships or an Associate's Degree with a minimum of seven (7) years of banking experience in product sales and lending.
  • Knowledge of internal bank operations (wire transfers, debits/credits, and loan payments) and bank products to cross-sell.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Sales skills and ability to sell various products.
  • Leadership abilities to lead projects and manage people indirectly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of banking laws and applicable compliance regulations.
  • Experience with Know Your Customer (KYC) processes.
