About the position

The Business Development Officer at the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri, is responsible for providing site selection, local and state business incentives, and governmental ombudsman services to businesses in Kansas City. This role involves building relationships with local companies, promoting business expansion, and coordinating with various partners to enhance the business climate in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Contact and create relationships with Kansas City companies to determine their needs for local, regional, or state assistance.
  • Partner with local industry associations to improve industry competitiveness and growth.
  • Promote and coordinate the use of local and state business incentives for business expansion and recruitment.
  • Coordinate with the Kansas City Area Development Council and Missouri Department of Economic Development on business retention and growth activities.
  • Maintain a current understanding of local and state incentives and identify additional resources.
  • Write reports, proposals, and fill out applications as needed.
  • Perform other technical duties as assigned.

Requirements
