About the position

The Business Development Officer at Manasquan Bank is responsible for partnering with Commercial Lending to create and execute a sales action plan aimed at enhancing growth, profitability, and client retention. This role focuses on actively marketing the bank's products and services within the Metuchen and Middlesex County market, while also supporting commercial lending efforts and client service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Actively market Manasquan Bank products and services to the business community.
  • Proactively call on existing and prospective commercial clients to develop new business and retain and expand existing business.
  • Partner with branch managers and commercial lenders to assist with calling efforts and client support.
  • Develop a top prospect list on a monthly basis.
  • Support Commercial Lending in all aspects of client service and product delivery.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with Commercial Lending and product support in a banking or financial institution.
  • 5-7 years of proven business development and sales experience including cold calling prospects.
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a sales environment.
  • Working knowledge of branch operations and banking regulations.
  • Working knowledge of banking products, services, and software.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, listening.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Ability to manage time, resources, and set priorities to accomplish multiple duties.
  • High level of commitment to exceptional service and client relationship development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient in public relations and community involvement for the purpose of developing new business and expanding on existing client relationships.
  • Possess the level of product knowledge necessary to effectively promote the Bank's products and services.
