About the position

The Business Development Operations Analysis Lead at Leidos is a pivotal role that supports the Defense Sector Growth Senior Vice President in executing operational initiatives across the sector. This position involves leading projects, collaborating with business development and capture leaders, and ensuring effective business operations through strategic planning and decision support. The Analysis Lead serves as the primary contact for cross-organizational projects, facilitating partnerships and driving the execution of strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Sector Growth SVP in designing and implementing overall business strategy and day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinate Strategy to Action plans across the Defense Sector.
  • Provide decision support through data gathering, information analysis, and presentation of relevant considerations to key stakeholders.
  • Oversee strategic initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of the Sector SVP and Business Area growth leadership.
  • Assist the Sector SVP in identifying and assessing scenarios requiring insight for problem resolution.
  • Prioritize and prepare materials for internal and external events, key customer meetings, speaking engagements, company site visits, and conferences.
  • Coordinate with the Growth SVP and Defense Sector management team in strategic planning, policy development, budget development, and decision-making.
  • Develop project plans and deliverables that meet identified requirements according to accepted Project Management principles.
  • Ensure assigned individuals execute all phases of identified tasks and provide appropriate tracking and reporting per plan.
  • Consult with senior management and stakeholders regarding work-around, recovery plans, and work scope changes for multiple projects.
  • Anticipate, identify, and troubleshoot significant issues, providing timely information and updates across multiple stakeholders.
  • Develop relationships with sector functional management to support execution across the sector.
  • Collaborate with leadership regarding possible workarounds, recovery plans, and work scope changes.
  • Provide oversight support for all internal and external communications produced by the Sector Growth organization.
  • Execute and support other operational projects as assigned by the Sector SVP.
  • Act as a representative for the Sector SVP as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited university required.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience and leadership responsibilities, including demonstrated proficiency in project management.
  • Strong diplomatic, leadership, and problem-solving skills to enhance daily operations.
  • Ability to interact with senior management on controversial situations and influence other senior leaders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to establish positive working relationships.
  • Proven problem solver capable of making clear-headed decisions under pressure.
  • High level of knowledge with program management/scheduling tools and Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
  • Prior experience in Business Development and understanding of Leidos Win Plan.
  • Strong financial acumen, including understanding of Gross Awards, Backlog, Factoring, and Book-to-Bill.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of WinIt tool and functionality preferred.
