About the position

The Business Development Representative - Field Sales at Quill, a part of Staples, focuses on driving new revenue growth by acquiring new customers in the public sector and commercial market within Arizona. This role involves building territory penetration strategies, qualifying prospects, and presenting Quill's value propositions to potential clients. The representative will also attend events and conferences to represent Quill and ensure a smooth transition to the account management team upon customer commitment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive conversion of 1M new revenue from new customers.
  • Build territory penetration strategy and analyze performance to meet revenue goals.
  • Qualify prospects based on customer size, spend, and potential.
  • Schedule appointments and meet with prospective customers in person.
  • Utilize marketing collateral to create engaging presentations.
  • Attend conferences, tradeshows, and events to represent Quill.
  • Create and present custom pricing solutions to potential customers.
  • Leverage education contracts to acquire new education customers.
  • Ensure smooth transition to the account management team upon customer commitment.
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM, including activity logs and pipeline.
  • Seek ways to improve and apply coaching from managers and peers.
  • Positively impact team culture and build trust with colleagues.
  • Drive revenue beyond traditional office supplies and champion company values.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED
  • 4+ years of field sales experience
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% within the territory.

Nice-to-haves

  • 6 months+ of relevant experience in the public sector market
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Proven business development experience.
