About the position

The Business Development Representative at Buyers Edge Platform is responsible for driving sales and expanding the brand's membership base within the grocery retail segment. This role involves building relationships with key stakeholders, identifying new partnerships, and presenting at various industry events. The position requires a proactive approach to lead generation and closing sales, contributing to the growth of the newly launched SaveMore brand.

Responsibilities

  • Work in tandem with division leader to grow the brand membership base
  • Search for and target Independent Grocery Store and Convenience Store operators with food service offerings
  • Build and develop relationships with key retail stakeholders including customers, wholesalers/distributors, manufacturers, and channel partners
  • Seek out new partnerships in the space for lead generation
  • Present at various events such as trade shows, food shows, and wholesaler/distributor meetings
  • Identify and seek prospective retail operators, handle lead generation and conversion to close
  • Work hand in hand with sales teams at all levels

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a sales role, experience selling to foodservice retailers preferred
  • Experience in and an understanding of the foodservice industry within retail
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Experience negotiating terms and preparing sales agreements
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time as needed
  • A valid, unrestricted driver's license with the ability to rent a car is required
  • An entrepreneurial spirit who values a team environment
  • Efficient, detail oriented, and well organized
  • Strong communication and relationship-management skills
