About the position

The Business Development Representative (Outside Sales) role at MIRO Industries is a full-time position focused on seeking out new customers and project opportunities in the construction industry. This position involves working closely with rep firms and distributors to identify and support customers, particularly for large projects such as data centers and industrial buildings. The role requires a combination of sales skills, project management, and technical knowledge, with a strong emphasis on customer service and relationship building.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a network of sources (reps, engineers, contractors, etc.) to identify new customers and projects.
• Seek out new business opportunities with new and existing customers, focusing on large projects.
• Perform take-offs at customers' project sites.
• Create quotes, submittal drawings, and layouts for customers.
• Project manage various customer engagements.
• Arrange and conduct Lunch & Learns with engineers, architects, and contractors.
• Attend and work tradeshows (1 - 5 per year).
• Maintain detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, visits, lost business, and any rep or customer relationship or project problems.

Requirements

• 2 years of construction estimating experience, preferably with roofing, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical projects.
• Adept at reading blueprints.
• Skilled at performing take-offs and creating cost estimates.
• Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities.

• Organized and able to manage several jobs simultaneously while building new customer relationships.
• Thrives in a deadline-driven environment and pays attention to detail.
• Flexible and able to pivot quickly as needed.
• Tech-savvy, able to use and troubleshoot programs like Bluebeam, Salesforce, MS Office, QuickBooks, reMarkable, Procore, and Certify.
