About the position

We are seeking a motivated and driven Business Development/Sales Representative to join our growing sales team in Garfield, NJ. In this role, you will be responsible for selling our safety solution and crowd control products, which include safety signs, traffic signs, pipemarkers, steel barricades, stanchion belts, and more, to customers throughout North America. Your primary goal will be to drive profitable growth and achieve sales and margin budgets while building meaningful relationships with customers through a consultative selling approach. This involves understanding their current and future needs, providing first contact resolution, and negotiating positive outcomes for both the customer and the company. You will enhance the customer experience by identifying opportunities to offer products based on their needs and will follow multi-step end-to-end sales sequences, including phone calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach, to set meetings and ultimately win more business with prospective and current clients. The role requires you to be adaptable to an ever-changing environment, learning new CRM systems, sales processes, and newly added product lines. You will identify and prospect potential clients across various industries to generate new business opportunities and relationships, while actively engaging with prospects through cold and warm calling, emails, networking events, and consistent follow-up to maintain a robust sales pipeline. Additionally, you will be responsible for presenting and demonstrating company products and services to prospective clients, understanding client requirements, and providing customized solutions that meet their specific needs to create repeat customers. Collaboration with the sales teams to develop tailored sales strategies and proposals is essential, as is negotiating pricing and contractual terms in partnership with the company estimating team to ensure successful deal closures. You will also work closely with the marketing teams to stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to effectively position our products and services. Achieving and exceeding assigned sales targets and objectives monthly, providing weekly and monthly sales reports to senior management, and offering timely customer support are also key components of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate pricing and contractual terms with the estimating team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.

  • Provide timely customer support for order confirmations, product availability, and delivery.
  • Process requests for price quotes, orders, returns, and billing inquiries.
  • Enter high-volume orders into the fulfillment system when necessary.
  • Continue to develop sales skills and expand product knowledge.
  • Travel when necessary, including overnight.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in sales with a proven track record, preferably with B2B.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, verbal, and written skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, and resourcefulness skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and sense of urgency for successful project execution.
  • Self-motivated and target-driven with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Solid understanding of sales processes and techniques.
  • Proficiency in CRM software to manage leads and sales activities.
  • Experience using HubSpot Sales preferred.
