About the position

The Business Development Representative at Staples, Inc. is responsible for reactivating and converting inactive customers by making daily calls to both existing and prospective clients. This hybrid role requires a self-motivated individual who can multitask effectively and assess customer needs quickly. The representative will work closely with the account management team to drive revenue and maintain communication with customers, contributing to the growth of the managed book of business.

Responsibilities

  • Make daily calls to Quill customers who have not placed an order in 13+ months
  • Make daily calls to prospect locations affiliated with a managed customer entity
  • Leverage order history and specialized customer offers to reactivate customers
  • Maintain communication between customers and account managers to articulate trends and pricing solutions
  • Collaborate with sales specialists to drive revenue beyond traditional office supplies
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM, including activity logs and pipeline
  • Seek ways to improve and apply coaching from managers and peers
  • Meet and exceed monthly/quarterly quotas and key metrics
  • Positively impact team culture and share learnings with colleagues

Requirements

  • 1 year of related experience in sales or service, preferably in a business-to-business environment
  • Ability to navigate between multiple sales approaches
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D

Nice-to-haves

  • 1-2 years' experience in a B2B sales environment
  • Proven ability to achieve sales role metrics
  • Proficient using CRM tools or comparable sales/CRM tool
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
