About the position

The Business Development Representative (BDR) at WatchGuard plays a crucial role in the company's demand generation and pipeline creation strategy. This position is essential for identifying, engaging, and converting prospective partners and end users into new business opportunities. The BDR is responsible for initial sales engagement, setting quality meetings for internal sales teams and partners, and contributing to the overall success of the organization by exceeding targets and expectations. This role requires a motivated and enthusiastic individual who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage prospective partners and end users to create new business opportunities.
  • Manage inbound requests through forms, events, and webinars, as well as drive outbound engagement.
  • Own the initial sales engagement with accounts and set quality meetings for internal sales teams and partners.
  • Utilize tools like 6Sense, Salesforce.com, and LinkedIn for prospecting and messaging.
  • Qualify end users and connect them with Account Managers or partners.
  • Participate in weekly syncs with the regional territory team to review meetings and goals.
  • Prepare for the next day by checking in on new accounts and follow-ups.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use intent data and research to personalize outreach.
  • Skilled in navigating organizations and using social media for prospecting.
  • Strong time management skills and results-focused attitude.
  • Desire to be part of a team and share in successes and failures.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change.
  • Experience using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.com.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other social media platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a sales or business development role.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in technology or software sales.
  • Familiarity with tools like Outreach, Marketo, and 6sense.
