About the position

The Business Development Sales Agent at Podium Logistics is responsible for expanding the company's client base both locally and internationally, particularly leveraging connections with the Port of Savannah. This role requires a skilled sales professional proficient in Chinese and English, who will identify new business opportunities, manage client relationships, and promote the company's logistics services. The position emphasizes effective communication, strategic sales initiatives, and strong negotiation skills to ensure client satisfaction and business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the community, both in the U.S. and abroad, leveraging the Port of Savannah's logistics potential.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners, both locally and internationally, to ensure long-term collaboration and client satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively in both Chinese and English to ensure excellent customer service and responsiveness to client needs.
  • Develop and implement targeted sales strategies to address the specific logistical needs of import/export businesses.
  • Lead business negotiations independently, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes for both the company and the client.
  • Manage client accounts, ensuring satisfaction, timely follow-ups, contract renewals, and high-quality service delivery.
  • Stay informed about market trends and data, utilizing these insights to drive business development initiatives.
  • Work closely with internal teams to align business goals and ensure seamless client service across departments.
  • Attend networking events, trade shows, and client meetings to promote the company's services.

Requirements

  • Fluency in both Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) and English (spoken and written).
  • 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in logistics, transportation, or related fields.
  • Experience in business negotiation, sales, and marketing management.
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. and international shipping industries, particularly import/export procedures connected to the Port of Savannah.
  • Strong time management and project management skills.
  • High sensitivity to market trends and data, with the ability to act on insights to promote business growth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse client bases.
  • Strong teamwork abilities, capable of collaborating with different departments to drive business cooperation.
  • Ability to work independently, meet sales targets, and close deals efficiently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in or with logistics or supply chain sales.
  • Deep connection to the Asian community both in the U.S. and abroad, with an understanding of cultural nuances that can support business development and client engagement.
  • Experience working in or with the Savannah port system.
