About the position

The Director of Business Development and Relationship Management at Johns Hopkins HealthCare LLC is a pivotal role within the Innovation business unit, which is currently undergoing significant transformation. This position is centered around the vision of becoming the leading division that adapts Johns Hopkins science to develop commercial ventures and solutions aimed at improving population health outcomes for both local and global communities. The mission of this unit is to achieve better health outcomes by collaborating with various organizations, including self-insured employers, health plans, health systems, and health-IT organizations. The team focuses on distilling data, sharing information, and implementing interventions that can influence health behaviors on a large scale, impacting millions of individuals. In this role, the Director will be responsible for customer acquisition and revenue growth, identifying opportunities for collaboration with health plans, provider systems, systems integrators, and healthcare analytics companies. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Innovation Ventures and Solutions, the ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic dealmaker with a strong ability to build relationships and negotiate mutually beneficial agreements. The position requires a passion for digital healthcare and a resilience to thrive in a fast-paced business environment characterized by a competitive market landscape. The successful candidate will be curious, driven, and possess a proven track record in relationship management and customer engagement, essential for executing the strategic goals of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead customer acquisition efforts to drive revenue growth.
  • Identify and pursue collaboration opportunities with health plans, provider systems, and healthcare analytics companies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the healthcare industry.
  • Negotiate and execute agreements that are mutually beneficial for the organization and its partners.
  • Collaborate with team members to gather customer feedback on products and services to inform product development.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and competitive landscape to adapt strategies accordingly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, science, or technology; a Master's degree in business is a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in a revenue-generating role, preferably in health-IT sales or population health management solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic business development and relationship management.
  • Proven relationship management and customer engagement experience.
  • Familiarity with the product development lifecycle and tools used in the healthcare industry.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with team members.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience selling digital healthcare products to health plans and self-insured companies.
  • Knowledge of healthcare analytics and population health management solutions.
