About the position

Brailsford and Dunlavey is seeking an experienced business development senior manager to join our growing team in Washington, DC. Responsibilities

  • Oversee developing, writing, and designing proposals, RFP responses, and other client-facing documents.
  • Ensure that all materials align with the firm's brand and effectively communicate the value proposition.
  • Utilize Adobe InDesign and other graphic design software to create professional, visually appealing proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, analyze competitor strategies, and understand client sectors.
  • Translate findings into actionable strategies that drive business growth.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, project teams, and technical staff, to gather insights and information for proposals and presentations.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff members in business development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development within a professional services environment (architecture, engineering, consulting, law, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign for proposal and presentation design is required.
  • Proven track record of successful business development strategies, and proposal development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and compellingly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in CRM software and data analysis tools is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated commitment to client satisfaction and ethical business practices.
  • Proven adaptability, flexibility, and creativity.
  • Ability to be productive in a fast-paced, multi-dimensional work environment.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, gender identity, cultural, disability, and ethical backgrounds.

Nice-to-haves

  • A master's degree or additional certification in business development or a related area is a plus.
