About the position

The Business Development Specialist at Conductix-Wampfler is a pivotal role aimed at strategically growing the business within the Container Handling and Mining/Bulk Material Handling markets across the Americas. This position is designed for a high-energy, persuasive, and polished business development professional who will be responsible for managing and expanding accounts in these sectors. The specialist will collaborate closely with the Market Development Manager, SMO Directors, and sales teams, supported by an organization recognized as a leader in mobile electrification. The role involves not only selling high-quality products but also ensuring exceptional service after the sale, which is crucial for maintaining a competitive edge in the market. In this role, the Business Development Specialist will assist the Market Development Manager(s) in implementing global marketing strategies tailored to the specific needs of the domestic marketplace. This includes managing strategic sales and marketing activities, key customer relationships, and project management. The specialist will also monitor and evaluate market segments, develop strong relationships with key customers, and work to expand market share through effective sales and marketing management. The position requires a unique skill set to attract interest and increase sales for Conductix-Wampfler products and services from both new and existing customers through various sales channels. The Business Development Specialist will be accountable for achieving sales and profitability goals within the designated markets. This includes coordinating special projects, providing technical application support, training domestic sales forces, and actively participating in customer visits to promote the organization’s product and service portfolio. The role also involves monitoring competitor activity and collaborating with marketing teams to determine effective advertising strategies. Overall, the Business Development Specialist is expected to play a critical role in driving growth and success for Conductix-Wampfler in the Americas region.

Responsibilities

  • Support all corporate objectives and policies.
  • Work together with the Market Development Manager(s) to ensure SMOs achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Accountable for all sales and profitability within the Container Handling and Mining/Bulk Material Handling markets.
  • Identify, monitor and coordinate Special Projects within SMO Americas.
  • Assist in coordination of special projects interface between SMOs and Centers of Excellence (COE).
  • Monitor and evaluate the marketing mix of the respective market segment(s) on a routine basis.
  • Provide insight to Market Development Manager(s) to develop and execute annual Strategic Market Development Plan.
  • Share responsibility for the management of key market accounts with other members of the SMO.
  • Participate in routine visits to key customers for promotion of the organization and product portfolio.
  • Provide technical application support to outside sales members of the SMOs.
  • Help train domestic sales forces on effective selling to related market segments.
  • Work with Director of Marketing Americas and MU to develop and/or adapt applicable sales and marketing tools.
  • Identify business opportunities and increase sales for the respective market.
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with key End Users, Engineering Companies, Consultants, Resellers, Distributors, and OEMs.
  • Follow up on key open quotations and projects with inside and outside sales teams.
  • Monitor and communicate competitor activity, sales data, and product data with SMO and MU.
  • Participate in public relations events related to the market such as conferences and seminars.
  • Assist in the coordination and participation of Tradeshows with Director of Marketing Americas, SMO Manager, and OSM.
  • Provide insight to determine the most effective advertisement media selection for the market.
  • Work with Market Development Manager(s) to set pricing policies for the respective market.
  • Help communicate effectively with key members in the organization for setting discount structures for key accounts.
  • Work with PMs and COEs to develop new products required to meet market demands.
  • Quoting for special Projects and/or special Products as needed.

Requirements

  • BS or BA in engineering, sales, marketing, or business.
  • 3-5 years of experience in sales, account management, project management, and market development support.
  • Willingness to travel is a must.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of growing sales within markets.
  • Understanding of marketing concepts and ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Project management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Solid record in providing profit to the bottom line.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, engineering, quality, and factory teams.
  • Understanding of electrification products is a plus.
  • Effective fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the mobile electrification market.
