About the position

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Business and Employment Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys with all aspects of business and employment litigation, from initial case assessment through trial and settlement. This role involves extensive document management, legal research, and case preparation, and requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing for all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests and responses.
  • Conduct legal research on business and employment law issues, case law, statutes, and regulations.
  • Manage case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and organized, including pleadings, correspondence, and discovery materials.
  • Handle discovery processes, including collecting, reviewing, and producing documents, coordinating depositions, and preparing discovery responses.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, witnesses, and court personnel regarding case status, deadlines, and required actions.
  • Support attorneys with trial preparation, including creating trial binders, organizing exhibits, and preparing witness lists and subpoenas.
  • File legal documents with state and federal courts, ensuring all procedures and deadlines are met.
  • Prepare summaries of depositions, interrogatories, and other legal documents for attorney review.
  • Assist in the management of case calendars, tracking important deadlines and court dates.
  • Provide general administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings, preparing correspondence, and handling case-related communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification required.
  • 3+ years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on business or employment litigation preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of litigation processes, court rules, and business/employment law.
