About the position

The Business Engineering internship at Meta is designed for impact-focused, entrepreneurial engineering students who are eager to apply their software engineering skills to solve real-world business challenges. Interns will collaborate with product engineering teams to build and improve products across various exciting industries, utilizing Meta's platforms. This 12-week internship offers the opportunity to write scalable production-grade code, learn different tech stacks, and create impactful solutions that drive business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Build new products and improve existing ones in collaboration with Meta product engineering teams to meet business needs.
  • Actively seek out and apply knowledge of products, technologies, and business to build solutions to solve for problems at scale.
  • Independently break down coding projects into tasks and partner with all applicable teams and partners to meet pre-established goals.
  • Ship and launch production level code in manageable pieces, with relevant descriptions, test plans, documentation, and unit integration tests.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback while quickly actioning feedback from code reviews conducted of your code.
  • Maintain relationships with partner teams and clients (internal and external) and present technical opportunities in a consulting capacity.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program and in the process of obtaining a Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Experience coding in an industry-standard language (e.g. Java, Python, C++, Objective-C, JavaScript).
  • Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience contributing to open source projects, shared code repositories, and/or personal projects.
  • Demonstrated software engineering experience from a previous internship, work experience, coding competitions, or publications.
  • Experience communicating to an audience.
  • Experience working in highly collaborative environments.
  • Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op.
