About the position

The Business Execution Consultant for Home Lending at Wells Fargo is responsible for collaborating with the National Retail Risk Team and Market Managers to ensure compliance with risk, legal, and regulatory standards. This role involves consulting with Market and Branch Managers, providing oversight, and developing strategies to mitigate risks while enhancing operational efficiency. The consultant will engage in critical thinking and work with key stakeholders to influence strategic initiatives and priorities within the business.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with Market and Branch Managers to ensure compliance with corporate policies and control standards.
  • Provide dedicated support and oversight to one market in Distributed Retail Lending.
  • Discuss performance within the market regarding deficiencies and recognition opportunities with Market Managers.
  • Develop strategies and implement tactical activities to minimize or mitigate risk.
  • Engage in critical thinking when issues are elevated and work with key partners to influence strategy.
  • Conduct root cause testing of compliance and business metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Review and research strategies to establish effective processes while meeting performance metrics.
  • Utilize independent judgment to guide moderate risk deliverables and present recommendations for business performance improvement.
  • Collaborate and consult with leaders and executive management to drive execution of risk and compliance strategies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on compliance metrics and develop action plans for improvement.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience.
  • 2+ years of Leadership/Sales Home Lending or Strategic Planning experience.
  • Expert knowledge of home lending regulations, risks, compliance, and controls.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, PPT, OneNote, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with reporting tools, including Microstrategy and Tableau.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across a matrixed organization.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify operational process inefficiencies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Wells Fargo's CORE origination system.
  • Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders.
