About the position

The Business Function Implementation Practitioner at Blue Rose Consulting Group is a remote role focused on supporting a federal client in Rosslyn, VA. This position is essential for facilitating human-centered design processes and ensuring efficient operations within the Chief Data Officer's office. The practitioner will be responsible for preparing reports, managing calendars, facilitating meetings, and applying systems thinking to address complex challenges, ultimately aiding in data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver regular reports to keep the front office informed for data-driven decisions.
  • Prepare talking points for the managing director and senior staff for meetings and briefings.
  • Manage briefing checklists to ensure all necessary information is gathered for meetings or events.
  • Manage the calendar for the managing director and coordinate logistics with stakeholders.
  • Attend key meetings to take notes, track action items, and ensure follow-up on decisions made.
  • Track action items assigned to the managing director's staff, ensuring timely completion and accountability.
  • Assist in preparing accountability reports to assess performance and highlight areas needing improvement.
  • Lead and facilitate meetings, workshops, and collaborative sessions to ensure productive discussions.
  • Drive collaborative problem-solving using human-centered design principles, including user research and prototyping solutions.
  • Apply systems thinking to understand interconnections within the bureau for sustainable solutions.
  • Utilize graphic facilitation techniques to visually capture ideas and discussions during meetings.
  • Design and conduct innovation workshops to encourage creative thinking and generate new ideas.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with accountability frameworks and reporting mechanisms in large organizations.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism, with experience handling sensitive information.
  • Previous experience in a special assistant or chief of staff role, especially in governmental settings.
  • Proven experience supporting senior executives with front office operations, including reporting and communication.
  • Skills in meeting facilitation, human-centered design, and graphic facilitation.
  • Experience in conducting user research, developing personas, creating journey maps, and prototyping solutions.
  • Ability to apply systems thinking to understand and address complex challenges.
