About the position

The Business Group Director for Ancillary at Haworth is responsible for overseeing the product lines related to lounge, guest/side seating, fixed tables, and partner brand relationships. This role involves strategic planning and management to ensure the successful design, engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and profitability of the product line, while fostering collaboration across business groups to optimize resources and maintain market competitiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage product lines within business groups to ensure successful design, engineering, manufacturing, marketing, promotion, sale, and profitability.
  • Facilitate communication among business groups to share best practices and coordinate planning.
  • Analyze competitive products continuously to ensure the product portfolio remains competitive.
  • Maintain relationships with field sales, dealers, and customers to stay informed about product needs and trends.
  • Define training needs and create training materials for sales members and dealer personnel.
  • Direct and coordinate the analysis and dissemination of data related to product lines for effective product management.
  • Manage product line segment and mix to maximize growth and financial performance.
  • Coordinate product and marketing plans with Product Managers for optimal resource use.
  • Define market size, segmentation needs, and trends to align product direction with market trends.
  • Develop product strategy based on market and competitive data, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Monitor new development and investments related to the product line to optimize ROI.
  • Define product criteria, including aesthetics and texture, to meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with Industrial Design to translate criteria into product concepts.
  • Coordinate resources across functional departments in product planning and development.
  • Coordinate Marketing Communication strategy and requirements within the business group.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, marketing, or a relevant field of study.
  • 10 years of product development and/or corporate marketing experience, with broad knowledge of marketing, sales, product planning, project management, finance, and engineering.
  • 5 years of supervisory experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Marketing.
  • Experience growing an Ancillary product line.
  • Experience working with external designers.
  • Experience in Field sales or field sales management.
  • Global experience.
  • SAP experience.
