About the position

The Business Immigration Associate at Fragomen plays a crucial role in providing expert immigration services to clients. This position involves developing case strategies, managing client communications, and ensuring compliance with immigration laws. Responsibilities

  • Develop an expert-level understanding of client base and industries supported.
  • Develop case strategies, including researching, drafting, reviewing, and counseling clients.
  • Identify and solve escalations and areas of underperformance.
  • Regularly communicate with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural and case processing issues.
  • Support clients in immigration program management and compliance.
  • Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for visa status.
  • Prepare petitions and applications for submission to government agencies.
  • Draft and prepare letters and legal documents based on established precedents.
  • Conduct research to support client requests and projects.
  • Proactively communicate with clients within SLAs/team protocols.
  • Partner with colleagues to resolve client issues and support projects.
  • Supervise junior Associates and other staff, providing mentoring and coaching.
  • Seek out and implement opportunities to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and implement guidance from supervisors.
  • Use firm technology accurately and ensure complete data entry.
  • Contribute to team meetings and firmwide activities.
  • Ensure compliance with documented firm standards and policies.

Requirements

  • U.S. JD or LLM required.
  • Member of a US State bar or Washington DC bar association.
  • 2-3 years of experience at Associate level.
  • Expanded practical understanding of immigration law.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dedication to exceptional client service.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
