As a Business Immigration Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering world-class client service and utilizing industry-leading technology solutions to assist clients in navigating the complexities of global immigration. This position involves performing substantive and client-facing work that goes beyond typical paralegal duties in a law firm setting, focusing on employment-based immigration matters. In this role, you will independently handle tasks related to case preparation and the filing of petitions with government agencies. This includes gathering and reviewing documents, analyzing cases, and drafting necessary documentation. You will oversee the status of cases using case management and billing systems, generate reports as needed, and assist in the review of cases. Engaging directly with clients, you will perform case intakes, troubleshoot issues, establish case strategies, and recommend solutions and process improvements. Your ability to generate clear and well-organized written work products will be essential, demonstrating your knowledge of immigration law and problem-solving skills. Effective communication is key, as you will proactively interact with foreign nationals and client contacts, providing timely updates on case statuses and addressing inquiries. You will be expected to meet assigned deadlines in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and keep your supervisor informed of case progress and any escalations. Additionally, you will play a role in the hiring and training of new team members, identifying ways to enhance team productivity and contribute to office-wide projects. Staying informed about changes in immigration policy and working with leadership to adapt processes accordingly will also be part of your responsibilities. You will need to be proficient with case management tools and technologies to manage data effectively, while also contributing to team and individual productivity goals. Following documented firm standards and policies is crucial to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or Paralegal certificate plus 4 years of business immigration experience.
  • Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of business immigration experience.
  • Extensive experience with the PERM process.
  • Strong knowledge of procedural requirements for various types of nonimmigrant and immigrant visas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and drafting documents.
  • Experience using various computer systems, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Desire to contribute to a positive work environment and promote teamwork.
