About the position

Join E. & J. Gallo as a Business Insights Analyst supporting our Revenue Management Team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of data and analytics, developing and maintaining analytics tools that are crucial for strategic pricing decisions. Your collaboration with regional teams, Sales Finance, and Business Unit leadership will enable you to provide fact-based recommendations that drive profitable revenue growth. You will focus on data analysis, tool development, and ensuring data integrity, particularly with the Revenue Management Redshift database. Your responsibilities will include maintaining centralized reporting dossiers, troubleshooting issues, and developing new analytics tools that assist in pricing and revenue management. You will play a key role in identifying and implementing process improvements to support business initiatives. Additionally, you will be involved in developing the annual Business Unit pricing guidance, collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather input, formulate strategies, and execute project initiatives. Partnering with IT, you will articulate business needs, integrate new data sources, and develop dashboards and reports that facilitate informed business decisions. Your role will also encompass maintaining current data connections, queries, reports, and dashboards outside of enterprise systems, such as Excel. You will prepare detailed work plans, conduct analysis and research, identify options, and recommend actions or changes for assigned projects. Furthermore, you will develop department procedures and performance measures, and conduct special financial and business-related studies as needed. Staying current with technology, you will support the Revenue Management and Sales Finance teams in learning new system tools and incorporating them into their daily work. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain analytics tools to support strategic pricing decisions.
  • Collaborate with regional teams, Sales Finance, and BU leadership to provide fact-based recommendations for pricing strategies.
  • Maintain centralized reporting dossiers and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Develop new analytics tools that assist in pricing and revenue management.
  • Ensure the integrity of large data sets, including the Revenue Management Redshift database.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to support business initiatives.
  • Develop annual BU pricing guidance in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with IT to describe business needs and integrate new data sources.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to enable informed business decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of Accounting, Finance, or Data Analytics experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Statistics, Computer Science, MIS, or Math plus 1 year of Gallo experience in Accounting, Finance or Data Analytics; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of Accounting, Finance, or Data Analytics experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience with MS Excel at an advanced level (including PowerQuery).
  • Proficient in writing and debugging data queries in SQL.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Statistics, Computer Science, MIS or Math plus 2 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or Data Analytics reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience with BI tools and dashboard development with Microstrategy, PowerBI, or Tableau.
  • Experience with database platforms such as Netezza, HANA, Redshift, Oracle, or SQL server.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Skilled in applying mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
  • Experience in solving real world business problems using SQL to extract, transform and analyze information from large data sets.
  • Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
