About the position

The Business Intelligence Engineer II (BIE II) role within the World Wide Grocery Data Team (WWGDT) at Amazon focuses on designing, developing, and innovating analytics products that align with Amazon Grocery's strategic objectives. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a high-growth grocery business, collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance decision-making through data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Software Development Engineers, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Product Managers, and Program Managers to design, develop, automate, and innovate analytics solutions.
• Work with leadership to define and execute the analytics strategy for Amazon Grocery.
• Design and develop user-friendly pipelines, data models, reports, and dashboards.
• Partner with stakeholders to design, develop, and implement KPIs, automated solutions, and data infrastructure improvements.
• Liaison with stakeholders to refine requirements and achieve project objectives, requiring data gathering, problem solving, modeling, and communication of insights and recommendations.
• Participate in stand-ups, design BI solutions, and create documentation and artifacts.
• Lead and mentor more junior team members.

Requirements

• 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
• Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
• Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS, and Matlab.
• Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
• Experience in data mining, ETL, etc., and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
