About the position

The Business Intel Engineer (BIE) role in Supply Chain Analytics at Amazon focuses on driving high-visibility, long-term supply chain and transportation plans. This position requires a motivated individual with strong analytical skills and technology experience to partner with various functional groups, including supply chain optimization and fulfillment technology, to develop and implement ideas that simplify processes and drive automation. The BIE will influence critical areas within the organization by providing actionable insights into business performance.

Responsibilities

• Use analytical and statistical rigor to solve complex problems and drive business decisions.
• Mine data from database tables (e.g., Redshift, MySQL, Oracle) using SQL and log files by writing scripts (e.g., PERL, Python, UNIX).
• Develop deep-dive tools, UIs, metrics, and dashboards.
• Serve as liaison between the business and technical teams to provide actionable insights into current business performance.

Requirements

• 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL experience.
• Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
• Experience writing complex SQL queries.
• Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS, and Matlab.
• Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
• Experience in data mining, ETL, etc., and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
