About the position

Super Micro Computer, Inc. is currently seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to support our fast-growing organization located in San Jose, CA. The Business Intelligence Analyst will report to the Business Intelligence Director and will be responsible for day-to-day business activities in accordance with Super Micro's established policies and procedures. The ideal candidate must possess solid interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal departments and contribute to the overall success of the organization. In this role, the Business Intelligence Analyst will analyze complex business Supply Chain and Planning problems and issues using data from both internal and external sources to provide valuable insights to decision-makers. The analyst will be responsible for providing reports through office applications to improve business processes and will analyze business requirements and processes, recommending them to management and executives for implementation. Additionally, the analyst will coordinate and ensure the success of large multi-functional Business Intelligence projects, driving engagement and alignment to support the departments' digital and data strategy. The analyst will also identify development needs aimed at streamlining and improving the operations of the organization for enhanced efficiency and profitability. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining databases, reporting dashboards, data models, and governance processes, as well as creating source-to-target mappings and functional specifications. The analyst will document and communicate with development teams, set up test data, coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with IT and business, and follow up on any IT application gaps or issues.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex business Supply Chain/Planning problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insights to decision-makers.
  • Provide reports through office applications to improve business processes.
  • Analyze business requirements and processes and recommend them to management and executives for implementation.
  • Coordinate and ensure the success of large multi-functional Business Intelligence projects to drive engagement and alignment to support departments' digital and data strategy.
  • Identify development needs for streamlining and improving operations for efficiency and profitability.
  • Develop and maintain databases, reporting dashboards, data models, and governance processes.
  • Create source-to-target mappings and functional specifications, documenting and communicating with development teams.
  • Set up test data and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with IT and business, following up on IT application gaps/issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with data and analytics projects.
  • 2+ years of experience working directly with business users to develop metrics/KPI definitions and resolve data quality issues using SAP or other ERP data.
  • Proficient computer user with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • 2+ years of experience in the high-tech manufacturing industry is a must.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
