About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA) at UNC Health Care plays a crucial role in enhancing decision-making through insight-driven analyses and reporting. This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders to develop dashboards and analytics content, ensuring effective communication and project management within the organization. The BIA is expected to uphold data governance standards while leveraging existing data sources for analytics.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key liaison between hospital leadership, physician leadership, and other stakeholders in Business Intelligence & Analytics.
• Support departmental and organizational priorities through effective communication and relationship management.
• Develop concise and insightful communications, including presentations in PowerPoint and verbal updates in meetings.
• Provide healthcare analytics support, including predictive analytics, statistical analysis, and data validation.
• Manage projects by defining project scopes, developing plans, and guiding prioritization through analytics.
• Fulfill reporting and analytics requests as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline.
• Three years of experience if the degree is in a general field; one year if in a STEM field; one year with a Master's degree; nine years with an Associate's degree; eleven years with a High School diploma.
• Experience in Insurance Payer claims ingestions and Epic Caboodle data warehouse structure is highly preferred.
• Forensic analytical mindset is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL with advanced functionality preferred.
• Intermediate proficiency in data architecture using R/Python or other statistical software is preferred.
• Strong stakeholder requirements gathering and presentation skills are required.
