About the position

PIP Global Safety (PIP) is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst/Developer to enhance our operational efficiencies through data-driven solutions. In this role, you will collaborate closely with business users to gather functional requirements and develop business solutions that streamline processes. Your primary responsibilities will include mining data, developing analytics tools, and reporting findings to executives and business users. Proficiency in SQL is essential for data extraction, transformation, and manipulation, as well as the ability to design and implement efficient queries and stored procedures. You will also be responsible for integrating data from various sources and ensuring data accuracy while troubleshooting and optimizing performance. As a Business Intelligence Analyst/Developer, you will leverage business intelligence tools such as Power BI to present data visualizations derived from the data warehouse or operational databases. Your role will require you to produce and analyze a significant volume of reports, typically ranging from 15 to 20 reports per day. Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, data lakes, and other BI tools like Tableau will be beneficial. Additionally, knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R, along with an understanding of data visualization best practices, will be crucial for success in this position. You will be expected to work in an office setting from Monday to Thursday, with the option for remote work on Fridays. Please note that no relocation assistance is available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business users to understand functional requirements and develop business solutions.
  • Mine data and develop analytics tools to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Report findings and solutions to executives and business users.
  • Create and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures within MS SQL Server.
  • Develop and modify up to 15-20 reports per day using Power BI and other BI tools.
  • Ensure data accuracy and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Integrate data from various sources and maintain data warehousing concepts.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI.
  • Proficiency in creating SQL queries and views within MS SQL Server.
  • Strong skills in MS Excel, including Excel Pivot tables.
  • Experience with data integration from various sources.
  • Strong grasp of data warehousing concepts.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize performance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
  • Familiarity with data lakes.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Experience with data visualization best practices.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies.
