About the position

As a Business Intelligence Analyst at Cortland, you will play a crucial role in supporting the acquisition and operation of multifamily apartment communities through quantitative analysis, reporting, and visualizations. This position involves architecting and designing data visualization solutions, building relationships with stakeholders, and leveraging data science to identify operational opportunities, ultimately driving data-driven decision-making within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design data visualization solutions for internal business stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with various departmental stakeholders to address their analytical pain points.
• Develop, conduct, and coordinate analysis to facilitate operational decisions, including revenue and expense management.
• Create methodologies and reports to track valuations of revenue streams.
• Leverage data science and analytics to identify operational opportunities.
• Leverage technologies such as BI and GIS visualization platforms, Databricks, and modern developer tools for data-driven analysis and automation.
• Analyze, develop, and maintain data connections between various stages of the data infrastructure.
• Investigate data issues and devise innovative solutions.
• Manage BI and GIS visualization platforms, collaborating with executives to align vision and implementation.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in a data analysis or business intelligence role.
• Degree in a quantitative or financial discipline with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Experience in SQL and visualization platforms (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.).
• Experience with Python scientific stack.
• Experience with Databricks is a plus.
• Intermediate proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience building enterprise reporting solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Quick learner with the ability to rapidly pick up new skills and search for solutions.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with GIS visualization platforms.
