About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) plays a crucial role in developing and implementing business intelligence solutions to support the Firefly clinic's mission of providing comprehensive care for pregnant and postpartum women with substance use disorder. This position involves data analysis, monitoring clinical outcomes, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance clinic processes and improve patient care metrics.

Responsibilities

• Develops requirements for business intelligence solutions under occasional guidance.
• Utilizes BI tools to satisfy end user data needs.
• Performs data analysis functions and implements small projects or components of large projects.
• Monitors, collects, tracks, displays, and disseminates data on Firefly patient and clinical outcomes.
• Compiles, analyzes, and submits data for Firefly grants.
• Develops dashboards to assist clinicians and staff with quality and clinical improvement.
• Works with HealthIT and developers to streamline data collection using Epic & RedCap.
• Presents findings to the Firefly team and other stakeholders to demonstrate program effectiveness.
• Suggests and helps execute changes to clinic processes and documentation to improve metrics, utilization, and outcomes.
• Leads analyses for Firefly research efforts and manuscript development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2 years of relevant work experience in business intelligence or data analysis.
• Proficient in utilizing BI tools and performing data analysis functions.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Epic and RedCap systems.
• Familiarity with data modeling and data mining techniques.
• Strong communication skills to present findings effectively.
