About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst role at Principal focuses on enhancing the Sales Compensation Administration Data & Analytics Consulting Team. The position involves building and maintaining data aggregation processes, creating custom reports and dashboards, and promoting data literacy across the organization. The analyst will analyze business intelligence data to inform decisions and collaborate with various business units to model potential strategies.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data aggregation processes, custom reports, and dashboards.
• Create interactive and compelling visual and numeric summaries.
• Ensure adherence to data governance policies.
• Train and coach business users on BI tools.
• Promote data literacy and a self-serve culture across the enterprise.
• Analyze business intelligence data to inform business and product decisions.
• Blend historical data from various internal and external sources for analysis.
• Identify and analyze compensation, demographic, or hierarchical trends.
• Partner with other business areas to model outcomes of potential business strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (preferred) or Associate's degree (required).
• Knowledge of analytics, consulting, and project management practices or equivalent experience.
• Curiosity and a passion for enabling business through data solutions.
• Knowledge of company business unit products, including plan design and financial metrics (preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer skills and knowledge of business unit applications.
