About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst I position at Riverview Community Bank is designed to assist management in making informed business decisions that will sustain or improve the organization's competitive position. This role is critical in utilizing the bank's data to provide insights into organizational performance, thereby enabling strategic decision-making. The analyst will interface with management and various bank departments to identify and document intelligence needs, ensuring that the data collected is relevant and actionable. In this role, the analyst will employ various programs and data extraction tools to obtain data, identify trends, organize information, and generate comprehensive reports. Collaboration with department leaders is essential to analyze information and produce actionable intelligence that can drive business improvements. The Business Intelligence team will work closely with the analyst to identify and prioritize additional data development needs, ensuring that the bank's data infrastructure supports its strategic goals. The position also involves providing application analysis and data modeling design to collect data for a centralized data warehouse. The analyst will be responsible for extracting data from databases and data warehouses for reporting purposes and facilitating data sharing between multiple systems. Standardizing data collection methods and developing validation reports will be key responsibilities to ensure data integrity and usability.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the bank's data to render a picture of organizational performance
  • Interface with management and bank departments to identify and document intelligence needs
  • Use various programs and data extraction tools to obtain data, identify trends, organize information, and generate reports
  • Work with department leaders to analyze information and produce actionable intelligence
  • Work with the Business Intelligence team to identify and prioritize additional data development needs
  • Provide application analysis and data modeling design to collect data for centralized data warehouse
  • Extract data from databases and data warehouses for reporting and to facilitate sharing between multiple data systems
  • Standardize data collection by developing methods for database design and validation reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or technical school
  • Four years of experience in an analytically focused position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of SQL preferred
  • Ability to perform system analysis and respond to the needs of users
  • Proficient use of query and reporting analysis tools
  • Advanced technical knowledge relating to Microsoft Office Suite programs, particularly Excel
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form in a timely manner
