About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst I at the University of Missouri Health Care is responsible for developing, preparing, interpreting, and monitoring complex healthcare analyses and reports that aid in decision-making for system management. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to provide actionable insights that enhance patient outcomes, utilizing various data analysis tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develops and prepares moderate-to-complex healthcare analyses and reports.
• Standardizes and cleans data for analysis.
• Builds prediction models and develops metrics for complex data analysis projects.
• Extracts, analyzes, and interprets population health data using actionable analytics.
• Performs analysis and modeling techniques on large clinical, financial, and operational datasets.
• Creates graphical presentations of health data using data visualization tools.
• Assists in planning, implementation, and evaluation of healthcare analytics solutions.
• Utilizes SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau, and Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Forecasts the impact of system changes and models scenarios that affect business processes.
• Communicates with business subject matter experts to analyze current and future trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in health administration, public health, computer science, statistics, business administration, data science, or a related field.
• 1 year of experience in decision support, analysis, or quality reporting.
• Experience in SQL and data reporting and visualization is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Cognos, and programming languages like Python and R.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in health administration, business administration, data science, or a related field.
• 1 year of healthcare experience.
• Experience with Cerner HealtheIntent.
