About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst will play a crucial role within Wellington Management's Investment Platform, partnering with investment leadership teams to provide analytical insights and support decision-making processes. This position is part of the COO function and focuses on building shared Centers of Excellence to enhance the adaptability of the investment platform to client needs and market conditions. The Analyst will leverage data analytics to assess performance, develop business intelligence tools, and improve processes across the investment functions.

Responsibilities

  • Create, improve, and organize meaningful and timely management analytics to provide insight into the key drivers of our business success.
  • Analyze investment performance results and attribution to understand the drivers of investment performance and evaluate the skill and impact of our investment professionals.
  • Perform various analyses to assist with complex strategic, transformational, and growth initiatives.
  • Leverage an understanding of the investment process to marshal the right resources for investors to exceed performance expectations efficiently.
  • Proactively improve processes and data flow across the investment platform.
  • Assist with the year-end performance evaluation and peer review process.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in a technical role, ideally within financial or business services.
  • Hands-on technical ability, including coding proficiency in languages and data visualization tools such as Tableau, SQL, and Python.
  • An understanding of global capital markets and a keen interest in the investment process.
  • Superior organizational skills with a results orientation, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent business writing and Excel skills are required.
  • Strong academic credentials; a Bachelor's degree is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional data visualization tools beyond Tableau.
  • Familiarity with investment performance evaluation methodologies.
  • Knowledge of financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
