About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst IV role at Guardian Life Insurance Company focuses on identifying business intelligence, reporting, and data analysis needs within the Dental and Disability Claims Operations. The position aims to enhance risk management and operational efficiency by transforming data into actionable insights. Analysts work collaboratively with BI Consultants, end users, and IT teams to address critical business issues and opportunities, providing leadership and independent initiatives in data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Identify business intelligence, reporting, and data analysis needs for Dental and Disability Claims Operations.
  • Work closely with BI Consultants, end users, and IT teams to turn data into critical information for business decisions.
  • Educate and train business partners and clients to use data as an analytical tool.
  • Conduct analyses of functional business processes and participate in the development of business cases for process improvement.
  • Design and document dashboards, alerts, and reports in collaboration with business and development teams.
  • Provide leadership in facilitating information gathering and structured documentation of findings.
  • Research business problems and create models to analyze these issues.
  • Advise executives on the role of BI in improving claims management and optimization.
  • Explore data to discover patterns, relationships, and trends.
  • Develop best practices for report deployments and recommend quality metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, Finance).
  • 5+ years of Business Analyst / Business Intelligence Analysis or related technical experience.
  • Experience within an insurance and/or healthcare organization, preferably in dental and disability analytics.
  • High level of experience with databases, SQL, and business intelligence tools (Business Objects, Alteryx).
  • Strong working knowledge of Claims & Service business functions and processes.
  • High level of experience with Visual analytics and BI tools (Tableau).
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management estimation processes and lean business case development.
  • Familiarity with BI technologies and strategic initiatives.
