About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst - Principal role is designed to support Senior Leadership by providing actionable insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making. This position focuses on developing, automating, and maintaining complex reports and dashboards from various data sources, enabling the transition from descriptive to predictive analytics. The analyst will extract knowledge from data to address complex business problems and will also train end users in self-service reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Support Senior Leadership with recommendations and insights for strategic decisions.
  • Develop, automate, and maintain complex standardized reports and dashboards.
  • Extract knowledge and insights from data to investigate complex business problems.
  • Provide predictive analysis, business intelligence, and operational effectiveness insights.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams and provide recommendations to Senior Leadership.
  • Train end users on self-service reporting and mentor peers.
  • Maintain documentation and training materials related to reports and reporting environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance with 8 years of business intelligence or related experience.
  • Experience with BI Toolsets such as Microsoft Power BI, IBM Cognos Analytics, Tableau, or Salesforce Reporting.
  • Proficiency in DB Querying with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, IBM Db2, MySQL, or Microsoft Access.
  • Ability to read, write, and debug complex SQL queries.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Visio.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Statistics preferred with 10 years of business intelligence experience.
  • Familiarity with best practices for creating standard reports, KPIs, and dashboards.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills to senior leaders.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and demonstrate initiative.
