The Business Intelligence Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the functional areas across Rowan University, particularly in Finance. This position involves working closely with various departments to elicit requirements for the creation and development of new solutions, integrations, and reports. The analyst will also be responsible for making changes to existing solutions and helping to diagnose and resolve issues that arise. A key aspect of this role is to develop a comprehensive understanding of Rowan University's applications, systems of records, and databases, which will enable the analyst to effectively support the university's operational needs. In this position, the Business Intelligence Analyst will be tasked with delivering precise functional specifications that encompass functional requirements, hierarchy, workflow, business rules, interface design, outstanding issues, data analysis, and data mapping. The analyst will gather comprehensive business requirements and use cases, recommending appropriate solutions based on the needs identified. Additionally, the analyst will evaluate business processes, gather requirements, and help establish and document specifications for development. Collaboration is essential in this role, as the analyst will work with the Technical team to develop high-level labor estimates for the deployment of new functionalities. Conducting gap analyses between applications and stated customer requirements will be a regular task, as will collaborating with developers to estimate project impacts. The analyst will also work with Development, QA, and Production Support teams to communicate, verify, and test desired functionality changes. Providing general technical support for various administrative applications across the campus is another responsibility, which includes travel software, procure-to-pay software, and student advising software. The analyst will demonstrate system changes to clients to ensure that all relevant business needs are addressed. Acting as an interface with Information Resources & Technology (IRT), the analyst will advocate for long-term improvements and ensure that technical solutions align with Rowan's technology direction. Managing multiple competing priorities through effective organization and communication will be vital to success in this role, as will guiding clients through the System/Software Development Life Cycle and IT Acquisition Process. Finally, the analyst will be involved in process monitoring, analysis, and improvement, particularly concerning Appman processes.
