About the position

The Sales & Marketing Business Intelligence Analyst at Online Vacation Center is a pivotal role responsible for organizing, maintaining, analyzing, and reporting on the company's marketing, customer, prospect, and operations databases. This position plays a crucial part in interpreting data to maximize sales and enhance the overall performance of various departments. The analyst will evaluate departmental reporting requirements and produce specialized reports using advanced reporting tools such as SSRS, SQL, Access, and Excel. The insights generated from these reports will enable the company to better understand its potential and current customer bases, as well as the competitive landscape for its products and services. Furthermore, the reports will assist in developing targeted marketing strategies aimed at specific client segments, including luxury markets. Ideal candidates for this role are proactive, enthusiastic, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. They should be adept at multitasking in a dynamic environment and capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team. The role requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to derive actionable insights from complex data sets, ultimately contributing to the company's sales and marketing objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop metrics and strategies to test and enhance performance for Marketing, Sales, Operations and more.
  • Profile our database of both prospective and existing customers to stimulate sales and maximize purchase penetration.
  • Work directly with the sales operations team to restructure the customer database in order to improve lead management.
  • Organize, maintain, and improve integrity of information within our customer database.
  • Conduct marketing program, business, and trend analysis using predictive statistics, customer profiling, and data analysis.
  • Design, implement and track sales campaigns based on marketing analysis and lead management best practices, then make recommendations based on their success rates.
  • Identify key opportunities for new initiatives, generate sales forecasts, and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Develop new tools and analyses and assist in the development of an enterprise reporting system to provide insights into business sales and marketing trends.
  • Analyze reporting requirements and provide accurate task and resource estimates.
  • Design, develop, and deploy new reports for several departments.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal clients and effectively communicate findings' significance to those clients.
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly management information reports.
  • Develop ad-hoc queries and reports as required.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience with various computer software programs and hardware systems.
  • 3 years of experience using SQL to query complex relational databases and validate reporting results.
  • 1 year of experience using Business Intelligence applications (Crystal, SSRS, Hyperion).
  • Advanced to Expert level experience with Microsoft Excel & Access.
  • Very strong on quantitative analytics and tools.
  • Must understand indexes, stored procedures, views, and functions.
  • The ability to accurately estimate the levels of effort to accomplish various reports, projects, and tasks.
  • Effective, concise communicator at all levels who thinks strategically.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to the challenges of a unique environment with complex reporting needs.
