About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst at SC NEXUS will leverage data-driven insights to support strategic planning and policy development in the energy sector. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to advance energy resilience initiatives and ensure compliance with Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant requirements. The analyst will conduct market research, data analysis, and reporting to inform decision-making and contribute to South Carolina's leadership in advanced energy technologies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive research and data analysis to identify and forecast market trends that impact SC Nexus initiatives.
• Collaborate with researchers, industry partners, and government entities to provide analytical support for projects related to energy storage, advanced manufacturing, and national energy security.
• Monitor industry developments in the energy sector, particularly energy storage technologies, to ensure SC Nexus remains informed of key advancements.
• Analyze and interpret data from various sources, ensuring reports and insights are accurate, reliable, and actionable.
• Develop reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate complex data insights in a clear and concise manner to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Perform cost-benefit analyses to support decision-making processes and strategic initiatives.
• Provide data-driven insights to guide SC Nexus's strategic planning, policy development, and long-term goals.
• Track and analyze performance metrics related to Economic Development Administration (EDA) grants, ensuring full compliance with grant requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation required for EDA grant compliance, including tracking project milestones, financial performance, and other required metrics.
• Monitor and track the progress of economic development projects tied to SC Nexus, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and reporting on key milestones.
• Support the SC Nexus team in evaluating the impact of economic development projects, including job creation, capital investment, and technological advancements.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree and relevant project management experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a related role.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to process complex data sets and derive meaningful insights.
• Excellent research skills, with a focus on detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in conducting cost-benefit analyses and making data-backed recommendations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, able to present data findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with data visualization tools and data analysis software (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Experience in tracking and monitoring economic development projects, with a strong understanding of how to measure their impact on job creation, capital investment, and broader community benefits.
• Knowledge or experience in energy storage technologies, manufacturing processes, or related industries is a strong plus.
• Experience in grant compliance, particularly with EDA grants, including tracking and reporting on metrics and milestones is a strong plus.
