About the position

As a Business Intelligence Analyst Senior for Fraud at USAA, you will play a crucial role in analyzing complex business problems and providing insights to decision-makers. This position involves leveraging data from various sources to identify trends and patterns, crafting specifications for reports, and leading multi-functional teams to address business issues. You will also be responsible for developing business intelligence solutions, collaborating with IT teams, and acting as a trusted advisor for data visualization to drive business value.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex business problems using data from internal and external sources.
  • Identify and interpret trends and patterns in datasets.
  • Craft specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs.
  • Lead multi-functional teams to address business issues.
  • Prototype solutions for displaying information based on business needs.
  • Capture complex business requirements by partnering with customers.
  • Develop and implement business intelligence solutions, including data visualization and transformation.
  • Collaborate with IT execution teams on analytic infrastructures and data engineering.
  • Apply data visualization best practices to identify trends and patterns.
  • Act as a trusted data visualization advisor to stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship on business intelligence tools and techniques.
  • Participate in industry groups to share best practices and stay updated on trends.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are identified and controlled.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative analytics field or 4 years of related experience in statistics, mathematics, or quantitative analytics.
  • 6 years of data & analytics experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in addressing moderately complex business problems.
  • Advanced experience with business intelligence platforms and SQL-based languages (e.g., Tableau, Business Objects, Snowflake).
  • Expert ability to build business knowledge through partnerships at various levels.
  • Expert-level communication skills with the ability to present to all management levels.
  • Ability to embed storytelling within business intelligence solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • US military experience or experience as a military spouse/domestic partner.
  • Professional background in Financial Planning and Analysis.
  • Experience working with complex data sets.
  • Ability to develop and implement financial forecasting.
