About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst Senior role at United Services Automobile Association involves identifying and managing risks associated with business activities while developing and implementing business intelligence solutions. This position requires collaboration with IT teams and stakeholders to ensure effective data visualization and analytics, ultimately driving business value through informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and manage existing and emerging risks stemming from business activities.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
  • Lead and participate in gathering complex and unique business requirements by partnering with customers to define the business problem and data needs.
  • Utilize an advanced understanding of multiple data structures and sources to lead the development and implementation of business intelligence solutions, including data visualization, data transformation, or data collection.
  • Strategically partner and work with IT execution teams on the development of analytic infrastructures, data engineering, or related business intelligence efforts.
  • Collaborate on the design and implementation of technical standards and governance practices.
  • Apply data visualization best practices to identify and interpret trends or patterns while following standard Enterprise branding.
  • Act as a trusted data visualization advisor to stakeholders/end-users to drive business value.
  • Provide system thinking to influence relevant data, information, and application architecture decisions.
  • May serve as an Agile champion responsible for methodology, execution, and team education on best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Integrated Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field followed by 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or in a data analyst-related occupation.
  • Alternatively, a Master's degree in Integrated Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 3 years of experience in a data analyst-related occupation.
  • Experience in gathering complex and unique business requirements by partnering with customers to define the business problem and data needs.
  • Experience using multiple data structures and sources to lead the development and implementation of business intelligence solutions, including data visualization, data transformation, and data collection.
  • Experience working with IT execution teams on the development of analytic infrastructures, data engineering, and related business intelligence efforts.
  • Knowledge of data visualization best practices to identify and interpret trends or patterns while following standard Enterprise branding.
  • Experience with prototyping, usability, and the end-user experience to maximize the impact of the final data visualization product (dashboard, report, insight, or analysis).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology.
  • Experience providing guidance on business intelligence tools, techniques, and processes.
  • Proficiency in Tableau, Business Objects, Adobe SiteCatalyst, Anaconda, and Python.
  • Experience with SQL-based languages: Snowflake, Hadoop, Netezza, Advanced SAS, and SAS Macros.
