About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst Senior - P&C Claims Analytics at USAA plays a crucial role in transforming data into actionable insights to support claims operations. This position involves leading analytic initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders, and utilizing advanced data visualization tools to enhance decision-making processes. The analyst will manage multiple projects, ensuring effective communication and project management skills are applied to deliver high-quality business intelligence solutions.

Responsibilities

• Leads and participates in gathering complex business requirements by partnering with customers to define business problems and data needs.
• Utilizes an advanced understanding of multiple data structures and sources to lead the development and implementation of business intelligence solutions.
• Strategically partners with IT execution teams on the development of analytic infrastructures and related business intelligence efforts.
• Applies data visualization best practices to identify and interpret trends or patterns while following standard Enterprise branding.
• Acts as a trusted data visualization advisor to stakeholders to drive business value.
• May serve as an Agile champion responsible for methodology, execution, and team education on best practices.
• Provides internal team leadership by mentoring on business intelligence tools, techniques, and processes.
• Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, supervised, and controlled.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative analytics field or 4 years of related experience in statistics, mathematics, or quantitative analytics.
• 6 years of data & analytics experience or a combination of 4 years of data & analytics experience and 2 years of progressive functional business experience.
• Demonstrated experience in identifying innovative approaches to address moderately complex business problems.
• Advanced experience developing business deliverables leveraging business intelligence platforms and SQL-based languages.
• Proven ability to leverage or build business knowledge through meaningful partnerships at various organizational levels.
• Demonstrated expert-level communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations to all levels of management.

Nice-to-haves

• 2 or more years of P&C Claims experience.
• 1 or more years of project management and Agile experience.
• Experience with SQL, Tableau, Python, and data prep/transformation.
• Excellent presentation and PowerPoint skills; experience presenting to senior leaders.
