About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst at Saint Alphonsus Health System plays a crucial role in establishing and maintaining partnerships with business owners and stakeholders. This position is responsible for developing, analyzing, and evaluating data to create business intelligence that supports the health system's strategic objectives. The analyst collaborates with technical teams to develop data infrastructure and supports business intelligence tools and systems, ensuring effective governance and documentation of data assets.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain consultative partnerships with business owners and stakeholders.
  • Develop, analyze, and evaluate information/data to create and maintain business intelligence.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop data infrastructure for business intelligence solutions.
  • Support business intelligence tools and systems, and assist end-users.
  • Contribute to data and analytic governance and maintain documentation of knowledge assets.
  • Manage business intelligence vendor relationships and software solutions.
  • Define and develop business intelligence deliverables with business owners.
  • Coordinate processes and audits to ensure accurate reporting solutions.
  • Synthesize business intelligence and trend data to generate reports for business owners.
  • Mine data from medical systems and conduct analyses to identify data integrity issues.
  • Provide technical support for existing business intelligence tools and systems.
  • Serve as an internal consultant for research, data collection, and presentation of business intelligence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, IT, or Math.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in data analysis of complex, large data sets, preferably in healthcare.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and self-manage projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of healthcare operations, clinical quality, revenue cycle, and health information technology.
  • Knowledge of applied research, statistical and financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with software system testing and support.
  • Familiarity with performance improvement and/or LEAN methodologies.
