About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst role at Ahold Delhaize USA is focused on leading data analytics initiatives using Power BI. The primary objective is to manage the organizational adoption of Power BI, ensuring effective development and implementation of data security protocols. This position is responsible for supporting analytic requests, maintaining data quality, and providing training to enhance user knowledge. The analyst will partner with various brands to deliver insights that drive business strategy and will be accountable for change management related to new analytics tools.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Power BI, connecting to data sources and transforming data for business intelligence.
  • Translate data into informative visuals, reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards using Power BI.
  • Provide strategic insights based on existing data sources and contribute to discussions on future data enhancements.
  • Implement security protocols in Power BI, including row, column, and object level security.
  • Create DAX queries for custom reporting in Power BI desktop.
  • Develop, design, and publish Power BI reports to meet business requirements.
  • Facilitate user meetings to gather and translate business requirements.
  • Review customer files to ensure data integrity within Power BI.
  • Communicate data nuances and recommend best practices to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal and external data partners to generate insights.
  • Educate associates on leveraging Power BI for enhanced reporting insights.
  • Facilitate hands-on Power BI training sessions for users.
  • Respond to user questions and issues regarding data warehouses and Power BI.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in Data Analytics and Business Intelligence.
  • Advanced understanding of business intelligence applications, particularly Power BI and MicroStrategy.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Proficiency in SQL; knowledge of Python is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data visualization tools other than Power BI.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and practices.
