About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst at Beacon Credit Union plays a crucial role in providing business insights through data analysis, dashboards, and reports. This position is designed to predict member behaviors and assess potential financial scenarios that guide the organization's strategies. The analyst will gather and analyze data to discern strategies, ideas, and business cases, ultimately building high-quality prediction systems that ensure the products and services align with the mission of serving members effectively. In this role, the analyst will manage the report request intake form, where business intelligence report requests are generated. They will write reports using SQL scripts to complete requests within specified deadlines, assisting end users with operations, staffing, product pricing, policy development, and strategic decisions. The creation of data visualizations is essential, as the analyst will deliver key conclusions for comprehensive business recommendations and performance tracking to key stakeholders in the credit union. This includes developing dashboards, graphs, charts, and other visualizations available in the business intelligence platform. The analyst will also promote the utilization of technical services to resolve business issues within the enterprise project management process and provide technical support on business intelligence projects. They will recommend and implement improvements to existing analyses, data interpretation, and other process-related areas. Additionally, the analyst will serve as a point of contact for employees regarding reporting and displaying credit union data, and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Manage the report request intake form for business intelligence report requests.
• Write reports using SQL scripts to complete requests within reporting deadlines.
• Create data visualizations, including dashboards, graphs, and charts, for business recommendations and performance tracking.
• Promote the utilization of technical services to resolve business issues within the enterprise project management process.
• Provide technical support on business intelligence projects.
• Recommend and implement improvements to existing business intelligence analyses and data interpretation.
• Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding reporting and displaying credit union data.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business analytics, computer science, or a related field.
• 1 to 3 years of similar or related experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of data visualization/analysis tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Domo.
• Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to use logic and critical thinking to address issues efficiently and effectively.
• Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision making.
