About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst at the University of Southern Indiana plays a crucial role in data management and analysis, supporting institutional research and policy development. This position involves collecting, cleaning, and preparing data for various analyses, as well as developing dashboards and reports to aid decision-making across the university. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure data integrity and provide insights that drive strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and report data for external surveys including IPEDS, Common Data Set, and U.S. News.
  • Develop dashboards based on user requirements and key performance indicators using tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
  • Conduct statistical analyses using software such as Stata, R, SQL, or Python.
  • Merge data from multiple sources in preparation for analysis and develop technical documentation.
  • Assess stakeholders' business processes and reporting needs to provide data analysis that aids in decision-making.
  • Provide support and training to end users regarding data warehouse/BI-related problems and issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data analytics, information systems, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in statistical programming and data management using tools such as Stata, R, SQL, and/or Python.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in data cleaning and data modeling.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workloads effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in cleaning and analyzing large-scale administrative data.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of statistical techniques, including descriptive, exploratory, and causal analysis.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in predictive modeling and survey design.
