About the position

As a Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA) at BluPeak Credit Union, you will serve as a crucial liaison between our technology and business teams. Your primary responsibility will be to partner and consult with cross-functional department leaders and personnel across the organization to ensure the successful development and execution of solutions and services. This role is pivotal in providing strategic, analytical, and technical support for Business Insights activities. You will leverage data to gain key insights into business opportunities and effectively present these insights to business stakeholders. Additionally, you will be heavily involved in the distribution and successful delivery of all reports, utilizing data analysis and reporting tools to assist with business growth. In your first year, you will assist in establishing new software and infrastructure, taking on a project management role as the new team is formed. The scope of deliverables and analysis will expand as the team matures over the next 12-18 months. You will help design, develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive suite of business intelligence tools to inform and support key business decisions related to the deposit portfolio and the Credit Union's loan portfolio. Your role will also involve managing vendors, serving as a subject matter expert in the development of business information deliverables, and supporting data architecture management, system-to-system management, data integration, and data integrity initiatives. You will construct, maintain, and analyze various reports that identify needs, concentrations, exceptions, and other data useful for assessing deposit and credit risk. Your analytical support will extend to various operational functions, including executive management, deposits, lending, and project management divisions. You will partner with stakeholders to elicit and document business requirements, define new metrics and reports, and design, develop, and maintain reports and analytical tools. Your responsibilities will also include ongoing monitoring and refinement of reports, providing technical support for existing reports and dashboards, and identifying and analyzing errors and inconsistencies in data. You will translate data results into dashboards, written reports, tables, graphs, and charts to convey information to management in a digestible and visually appealing format. Furthermore, you will create written communication materials that summarize findings and support recommendations, as well as ad hoc reports to assist management in understanding and analyzing issues. As a BIA, you will advocate for the use of business intelligence tools across all levels of the organization and support the implementation of new technologies and platforms. Compliance with company policies and procedures, including annual compliance training and adherence to regulatory requirements, is crucial for the success of the organization. You will also perform other duties as assigned, ensuring that all activities align with the Credit Union's goals and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Help design, develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive suite of business intelligence tools.
  • Effectively manage vendors.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in the development of business information deliverables (reports, dashboards, etc.).
  • Support data architecture management, system-to-system management, data integration, data investigation, and data integrity initiatives.
  • Construct, maintain, and analyze various reports identifying needs, concentrations, exceptions, and other data useful for assessing deposit and credit risk.
  • Provide analytical support for various operational functions including Executive management, deposits, and lending as well as project management divisions.
  • Utilize the Credit Union's systems to create reports to manage assets requiring special attention and monitoring.
  • Partner with stakeholders, process specialists, and users to elicit and document business requirements.
  • Partner with business teams to define and document business requirements for new metrics and reports.
  • Design, develop, and maintain reports and analytical tools.
  • Perform ongoing monitoring and refinement of reports.
  • Provide technical support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools.
  • Identify and analyze errors and inconsistencies in the data and provide timely resolutions.
  • Translate data results into dashboards, written reports, tables, graphs, and charts to convey information to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, computer science, information systems, or analytical techniques preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 or more years of experience in Power BI tool including storytelling of data visualization is required.
  • 3 or more years of experience in business intelligence analytics required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project management or equivalent experience.
  • 3 or more years of direct experience in dashboard and report writing required.
  • Familiarity with relational databases.
  • Experience in a financial institution is highly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, SQL, and MS SQL Server.
  • Advanced knowledge of common software to build dashboards.
  • Demonstrated experience using data to drive business decisions.
  • Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience writing technical documentation.
  • Strong skills in project management and requirement gathering.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures.
  • Able and willing to collaborate in a team environment and exercise independent judgment.
  • Strategic, intellectually curious thinker with focus on outcomes.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $90,000 - $115,000 yearly.
  • Hybrid work environment, requiring in-office work three days a week.
