About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst position at The University of Texas at Austin involves working with a team to analyze and summarize data for a new survey focused on student engagement among dual enrollment community college students. The role includes data management, development of interactive dashboards, and providing analytical support for conference presentations and publications. This is a fixed-term position expected to continue until December 31, 2025, with potential for renewal based on funding and performance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in extracting and transforming data from diverse sources, ensuring it is ready for analytical use.
• Design and develop interactive dashboards and visualizations to effectively communicate key trends and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Perform ad hoc analyses.
• Maintain complete and detailed documentation for all assigned projects.
• Provide support for team members in data analysis and project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelors in a relevant field such as statistics, computer science, or data analytics.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience programming in SAS, Python, R, or SPSS.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in data visualization and dashboard development using PowerBI, Python, R, or Tableau.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience working with large data sets and quantitative data analysis.
• Ability to work in teams as well as independently.

Nice-to-haves

• Three (3) or more years of extracting and transforming data.
• Three (3) or more years of experience with data visualization, preferably Python or Power BI.
