The Business Intelligence & Reporting Analyst at AmWINS will play a crucial role in the company's data management efforts, acting as a bridge between various business and technology teams. This position requires the analyst to work across multiple platforms and technology units, providing solutions that enable business partners and leadership to transform data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate will possess a broad technology skillset, with a particular focus on business intelligence and reporting tools, and will have a minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role. AmWINS has developed expertise across a diverse range of property, casualty, and group benefits products, and offers value-added services that support these products, including product development, underwriting, premium and claims administration, and actuarial services. The analyst will be expected to collaborate closely with business leaders and data analysts to develop intelligence solutions and reports, design and implement BI solutions, and contribute to data modeling and analysis standards. In this role, the analyst will assist in planning data management and analysis activities, recommending new technologies that enhance current systems and align with corporate and business goals. The analyst will serve as a proficient technical resource, providing consultation and hands-on assistance for reporting and analytic initiatives. Collaboration with engineering, development, and product teams will be essential to understand and develop solutions that meet customer requirements. The analyst will also engage in high-severity production incidents and problem tickets as necessary, ensuring that the business's data needs are met efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business leaders and data analysts to develop intelligence solutions and reports.
  • Design and implement BI solutions including ETL, tabular model & data visualizations.
  • Contribute to data modeling and analysis standards and set best practices for reporting and analytic solutions.
  • Assist with planning around data management and data analysis activities and recommend new or different technologies that will enhance current systems and support corporate and business goals.
  • Serve as a proficient technical resource; routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member or as an individual contributor.
  • Provide consultation and hands-on assistance for reporting and analytic initiatives and incidents.
  • Collaborate with engineering, development, and product teams to understand and develop solutions.
  • Provide advice and recommendations around customer requirements and the implementation of those requirements.
  • Guide and influence leadership, technology team members, and business colleagues.
  • Engage in high severity production incidents and problem tickets as necessary.

Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft stack of reporting and business intelligence tools, including T-SQL, Power BI, SSAS (tabular), SSIS, & SSRS.
  • Proficiency with DAX and Power Query M.
  • Strong proficiency with SQL development.
  • Experience with Data and Process Modeling.
  • Detail and deadline oriented, capable of delivery and execution, able to identify risks and quickly resolve issues, and influence outcomes across multiple organizations, platforms, and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence decision makers.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams.
  • Experience with various software development methodologies, tools, and techniques, particularly Agile-based approaches.
  • Experience with systems functional analysis, technology business analysis, and a working understanding of various technical platforms, databases, data frameworks, and related technologies.
  • Proven track record of working alone and within a team and across silos to develop solutions.
  • Experience in the design, development, and rollout of both project-level and enterprise-level architecture programs.
