About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst at Woodward, Inc. is responsible for analyzing business processes and designing effective reporting solutions using Power BI. This role involves collaboration with management and key users to identify business opportunities and may require modifications to existing systems and reports. The analyst will work closely with a team of developers and users across multiple locations to ensure quality business systems are developed and maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Design and implement effective reporting solutions using Power BI.
  • Act as a liaison between software development staff, management, and end users.
  • Provide follow-up and closure to projects, ensuring ongoing support.
  • Work with leaders to align project timelines with daily work assignments.
  • Formulate test plans and coordinate software testing for larger projects.
  • Support the Power User Network by facilitating meetings and training sessions.
  • Provide technical leadership and recommend new technologies for business opportunities.
  • Act as a change agent for process and IT system changes.
  • Review system specifications for completeness and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a functional module (Sales, Finance, Purchasing, etc.).
  • 5+ years of experience with Business Objects required.
  • Experience in detailing program specifications and testing programs required.
  • Ability to provide direction to IT individuals and users required.
  • Experience implementing process and system changes required.
  • Expert understanding of business systems and manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of ERP systems, such as SAP ECC, strongly preferred.
  • Expert understanding of system life cycle methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and logical thought processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ETL processes.
  • Strong presentation skills, including user training in a classroom environment.
  • Ability to create functional training materials for end users.
