About the position

As a Business Intelligence Analyst at Cummins Inc., you will play a crucial role in managing stakeholder relationships and ensuring effective communication throughout the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, enabling data-driven decision-making. You will utilize SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis, and automate processes using Power Automate while developing solutions with Power Apps. Additionally, you will implement ETL processes and data modeling using tools like SSIS and SSAS, which are essential for managing complex datasets and providing actionable insights. Your role will involve gathering reporting requirements and analyzing data to deliver recurring reports to stakeholders on time. You will perform quality assurance to validate analysis conclusions and select appropriate analysis methods to provide accurate insights. Extracting data from operational systems and reporting databases will be a key part of your job, as will using globally standardized dashboards and best reporting practices to support business intelligence needs. You will collaborate closely with the Senior Business Intelligence Analyst and BI Leader to understand end-user needs and ensure effective communication with key stakeholders regarding analysis and reporting. In addition to your technical skills, you will be expected to build and sustain Cummins' leadership culture by demonstrating all Cummins Leadership Behaviors. This includes actively learning through experimentation, seeking new ways to grow, and recognizing the value of diverse perspectives within the organization. Your ability to communicate effectively, take on new challenges with urgency, and extract meaningful patterns from data will be vital to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage stakeholders independently and maintain regular communication.

Requirements

  • College, university, or equivalent bachelor's degree in Data Sciences, Economics, Computer Science, or Statistics, or a relevant field with a quantitative focus, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Data Analytics.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Power BI; Advanced Excel (VBA/Macros) skills required.
  • Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, ETL processes, and data modeling.
  • Preferably experience in sales or sales support roles.
  • Ability to work with big data and apply statistical concepts.
  • Experience analyzing data and developing clear and accurate conclusions.
  • Experience supporting a customer-focused organization preferred.
